You will learn about a few of my favorite things I use when decorating my space, as well as personal tools from personal development to financial enrichment.

Decorating your home is an exciting opportunity to express your personality and create an inviting and comfortable space. Here are a few of my favorite things I use when working on special projects to elevate my space.
I have also included some personal development resources that you may find helpful.
This post is about a few of my favorite things that I recommend to help you create a well-balanced life.
Recommendations: Some of My Favorite Things
01 Measuring Your Space

This measuring tape has been critical in measuring my space. For instance, before purchasing a large item, such as a sofa, I measure my space to ensure it will fit. You should do the same; it will save you the hassle of returning a large item, such as a sofa.
For instance, I measured my small kitchen area before purchasing this new small table set.
This one step saved me the frustration of having to return my kitchen set.
02 Wall Decor Essentials

To hang your artwork perfectly, use a level. You cannot go wrong with this tool. It has been essential when hanging wall art in my space.
Another tool I’ve discovered for hanging wall art is using command strips, especially if you live in an apartment, like I do. You can avoid putting nails in the wall altogether and get your entire deposit back.
Tip: Use command strips to hang curtain rods as well. It really works because I used it to hang my heavy blackout curtains.
03 Picture Frame Essentials

You will need frames when hanging your wall art. Also, you can hang picture frames in different sizes to create a gallery wall.
Don’t forget about the mats. Why? A bordered mat adds a touch of elegance and sophistication to your wall decor.
04 Black Out Curtains

Blackout curtains are essential for blocking light from entering your home and protecting your furniture from damage. However, do not place plants that require light near your curtains, as they will not receive the necessary sunlight.
05 Personal Development

If you’re trying to build healthy habits to achieve your goals, I recommend Atomic Habits by James Clear.
You will learn to overcome negative habits by adopting positive ones.
Besides being enriched by reading books, reading provides intellectual stimulation and serves as a decorative element.
Additionally, you can arrange them on bookshelves or coffee tables to add an extra layer of interest.
06 Plant Essentials

Indoor plants bring a touch of nature indoors and contribute to better air quality.
So, I’ve included one of the many plants, the snake plant.
Although snake plants are known for their ability to multiply, they only require watering every three weeks. Actually, this is my personal experience with snake plants.
Additionally, consider adding a wooden adjustable plant holder, which adds a touch of style and elegance to your decor.
07 Financial Tools

If you have financial goals, like saving for a dream trip or a down payment on your first home, consider opening a high-yield savings account.
A Marcus savings account has been instrumental in helping me stay on track in meeting my long-term goals.
Keep in mind that interest rates are significantly higher than those offered by typical savings accounts at larger institutions.
11 Light Fixtures

I discovered these battery-operated wall sconces to hang above my wall art, creating an ambiance, especially at night.
